We DASH for Dogs Like rolo

Help Us Reach Our Monster Mutt Dash Goal

An ARF Love Story:  Rolo’s journey was long, but the reward was worth it all.

It was a cold December Saturday in Berea with hurried people last-minute shopping for the upcoming holiday when a concerned citizen saw a dog wandering the icy streets. Thankfully he called the police and soon the cold wet pup was warm and safe with us.

It was clear from the start that Rolo (as we named the handsome shepherd mix) had known the comforts of his own home before. He was no long term stray. He knew all the basic commands, some tricks and was super social and friendly.  No doubt, we all though, his family will be coming to claim him soon.  A few days passed, then weeks and we realized Rolo’s family wasn’t coming for him.

No problem, we collectively thought.  He had already stole the hearts of everyone here. This easy going big fella will be scooped up by a new family soon.  Yet, a glitch was hit when a basic healthcare check showed Rolo had a hypothyroid. So, he went into one of our fostercare homes where they worked on getting his meds adjusted just right.

Meanwhile, he got to do fun stuff, like trips to visit assisted living / rehabilitation facilities, where he brought lots of love and light, including a few licks to residents, even showing off his turbo-tail wag!

It may have taken 9 months, but his fur-ever dreams came true when IIya looked into his big brown eyes and her heart melted. Today, he’s living the life every dog deserves!

THIS is why we “DASH”!  We thank you for joining us in helping more deserving ones like handsome Rolo by Mashing the Dash! By gathering pledges or simply making a small donation towards our Mutt Bucks Goal – you’ll be a HERO to homeless animals!
