Make a donationDONATIONS SUPPORT OUR LIFESAVING MISSION
Thank you to our generous supporters and donors, who make it possible for ARF to save the lives of over 1,000 companion animals each and every year. We receive no federal or municipal funding, but rely exclusively on donations, adoption fees and fundraising to support our lifesaving mission.
ARF offers several ways you can make a real difference in the lives of homeless and neglected animals.
Donate to our General Operating Fund
Donations to the ARF General Operating Fund go directly to running the shelter on a day to day basis. From feeding our furry friends to veterinary care, medical supplies, building repairs, leashes, litterboxes and everything in between, every dollar makes a real difference.
Become a Member
ARF Membership Packages are an easy, affordable way to support the homeless animals of ARF—and you receive some great benefits in return. A little something for the animals, and a little something for you—membership is a win-win!
Angels for Animals Fund
Animals often arrive at the rescue with extreme injury, trauma, or immediate healthcare or surgical requirements. Without care, these animals would either die or be sentenced to a life of pain and suffering. The Angels for Animals Fund is specifically designed to help cover the emergency veterinary care, surgeries and other resource-intensive therapies needed to heal these animals from the traumas they have endured. This critical fund also helps offset the cost of treatment for animals with long-term conditions, such as heartworm or parvo.
As you’d imagine, we go through a lot of pet and cleaning products, including laundry detergent and bleach, canned cat food, paper towels and other daily supplies. Anything you can spare is a great help to the volunteers and animals of ARF. See our Supply Wish List or Amazon Wish List for our current needs.
Some ways to make an even bigger impact with donations of supplies include:
- Taking up a collection at your workplace, school, or church
- Collecting items from our lists as a project for your scout troop or other organization
- Asking party guests to make donations of goods in lieu of gifts
In-Kind donations can be dropped off at the ARF shelter (390 Barrett Road, Berea, OH 44017) during our usual business hours.
Cars for ARF
Got a clunker? If you have a car, truck, boat, motorcycle, house trailer, or even a lawn mower that you’re not using or thinking of selling, why not donate it instead? Your charitable donation makes a big difference to the animals of ARF! Plus it’s tax deductible, fast & easy.
Whether it’s operating or not, we accept your donation. ARF volunteer Dean Ollar of West Side Auto Brokers will even pick it up! Contact Dean at 216-408-7777 or firstname.lastname@example.org for details.
Wills, Bequests and Planned Giving
If animal welfare is a cause that’s close to your heart, consider leaving a legacy that will help save more lives and make more happily ever afters.
Perhaps the simplest way to honor the memory of a loved one is to request that donations be made to ARF in lieu of flowers. Those whose hearts are with the animals often make a final request for friends and relatives to support our four-legged friends on their behalf.
Planned Giving is also an important way for your loved ones to honor your love of animals. You may wish to include ARF in your will or bequest. Some options are:
- Include ARF as a beneficiary in your will
- Make a gift of stock to ARF
- Give ARF your paid-up life insurance policy
- Designate ARF as the beneficiary of your retirement plan
- Leave your home to ARF in your will
In whatever way you choose to support ARF, please consult your attorney to make sure your wishes are met.

ARF is an exempt organization as described in Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code, and your donation is tax-deductible to the extent allowable by law.
Your monetary donation to ARF goes straight to work in helping the thousand-plus animals that come through the shelter every year.
